Support Worker – Community Justice Program
Work Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
Location: South East Sydney, NSW
House with No Steps is a leading provider of quality residential, employment and ancillary services to people with disabilities throughout NSW, ACT and Queensland. We are committed to innovation, continuous improvement and building strong relationships.
Support workers are directly responsible for the day to day support and personal development of the people we support at House with No Steps. We offer a range of community living services to assist people with a disability live in their own home, with as much independence as possible. Support includes a range of life skills including cooking, travel and community activities.
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional who is passionate about the work that they do and committed to the values of HWNS to work in the CJP South East Drop in Service.

Essential Criteria:
- A commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of HWNS
- Minimum 3 years experience in the disability industry
- Certificate IV in Disability
- Experience working with people who experience disabilities / criminal justice / alcohol and other drugs
- A commitment to the empowerment of all people with a disability
- An awareness of the importance of opportunities for the people we support to participate in their own lives as well as the wider community
- Good computer skills
- A current First Aid Certificate
- Current driver’s licence
- Experience working with people with complex and high support needs
- Experience working with people who have Mental health diagnoses
- Experience working with people behaviours of concern
- Experience working with families, carers and stakeholders
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible range of shifts on 24 hour roster
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with and willingness to undertake personal care
- Vibrant personality
