Turning Point Café and Function Centre, Summerland House Farm, Alstonville are seeking a Café Manager. The Café Manager manages the operational components of this business, whilst operating within the broader organisational context of House with No Steps. The Café business trades 7 days a week and a function centre where the hours are based on booking requirements.
The role will include:
Overseeing the day to day operations, wage costs, revenue and profitability of the Café & Function centre.
Leading and managing a team to ensure excellence and consistency in the product and service delivered to customers.
Menu development to remain vibrant for repeat customers.
Managing the front and back of house operations.
Identifying and delivering on opportunities for growth, particularly in the opportunity for increased bookings of functions and weddings.
Training and development of team members (including staff with disabilities) to improve customer service and safety.
Ensure safe food handling and hygiene standards are maintained at all times and compliance with Liquor licensing regulations.
Active role in the management team for Summerland House Farm.
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrated experience and extensive knowledge in the Hospitality industry with relevant qualifications.
Demonstrated ability to apply experience and knowledge across broad range of hospitality areas including; Café; Functions, Weddings and Conferences.
Demonstrated ability for menu development to support gross margin requirements.
Demonstrated leadership and training qualities with respect to staff and employees.
Knowledge and understanding of quality control systems and legislation – including health and safety, food safety and hygiene; liquor licensing and industry benchmarking.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office computer applications.
Demonstrated capacity to manage a high volume workload through planning and prioritisation.
Genuine commitment to working with people with disabilities and those who support them.
Ability to perform wage assessments for supported employee (training will be provided)
Current Drivers Licence.
