At House with No Steps, we believe that the most important role is that of a Support Worker. It takes an extraordinary type of person to work in this role and right now, multiple opportunities exist for Support Workers to join our collaborative teams across the Illawarra.
You don’t need to have experience but what you do need is heart. We’re looking for passionate team players who either have experience or a genuine interest in empowering and enriching the lives of people with a disability.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Support Worker, you are directly responsible for the day to day support, personal care and personal development of our customers. You will provide a range of community living services to assist people with a disability to be actively involved in their local community, valued, respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities and relationships.
ABOUT YOU
We’re interested in extraordinary people who have:
- Experience working with and/or a commitment to empowering people with a disability
- Qualifications; or a willingness to undertake Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to demonstrate active listening skills to assist with providing opportunities for our customers to live a great life
- An enthusiastic, flexible and resilient attitude with a growth mindset
- Well-developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Sound computer competency with MS Office
- The ability to work flexibly across a 24 hour roster
- A current First Aid Certificate and Driver’s Licence
- Experience supporting people with complex needs (desirable)
